Hospital Duty

There are days and times when real estate is not my priority. Hard to believe, isn’t it? Real estate is perhaps my favorite topic, what’s happening in the local area and nationally; what’s happening with interest rates and why; when does this crazy market in Dallas end; and many more topics to evaluate and consider.

Today, that is not top of mind. Today it’s my sister and her health and the amazing things modern medicine can do. Several days ago I dropped everything I was working in Dallas, called in a few favors and left for hospital duty in Arizona. In our family the rule is that if anyone is in hospital, they are not left alone; someone is with them at all times and I drew the short straw for night shift. It’s family tradition. This tradition is not because we don’t trust the medical staff, because we truly do, but because Mother drilled it into us many years ago.

Two days after a major operation and all is going well but she is still in ICU so I have several more nights of duty and then will head home to once again be focused on our real estate market. Until then, I hope everyone had a great 4th of July holiday and will commence writing again as soon as possible.
